Kay (she/her/hers) is a writer and a scientist who grew up on the North Dakota Prairie where she perfected her ability to transform winter landscapes into faraway lands. When she was ten, she made a promise to the ever present prairie winds, to never grow up… a promise she has diligently kept, often sneaking away to sew some lurid creatures in her attic or befriend the wisps of the woods.
Her writings explore characters making sense of their surroundings, whether that be a small town, a city, or fantastical lands.
Now living amongst the rainforests of Oregon, with BAs in both Biology and Chemistry, she does mad experiments by day and creates worlds of fiction by night.
Her work has been published in a recent Chipper Press Anthology: The End of Dragons, Blink Ink, 50 Word Stories, and has been nominated for the 2020 Best Microfiction Award… and more.
Fun Fact: She has seven siblings and has an identical twin.
